By the time Abaranger aired there hadn't been a Dino-themed series since Zyuranger. Mecha wise, there hadn't been much Dino activity in that time span as well. You had V-Rex Robo from Timeranger...and that is pretty much it. So let's see how Abarenoh holds up... Abarenoh consists of the primary three Bakuryu (爆竜)... 1. Tyrannosaurus (Tyranno) 2. Triceratops (Kera) 3. Pteranodon (Ptera) 1. ティラノサウルス (ティラノ) 2. トリケラトプス (ケラ) 3. プテラノドン (プテラ) Abarenoh comes with very few accessories. Included are tails for Tyranno and Kera as well as a small plastic piece that enables Kera's head to be used as the Tricerashield (トリケラシールド). The tails can be used as swords or combined into a larger sword, the Double Tail Sword (ダブルテイルソード). Ptera's feet become Abarenoh's helmet. One of the biggest draws to Abarenoh has to be the motorized drill feature. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to the hype. The drill is very slow and doesn't work too well a lot of the time. So what are my overall thoughts on Abarenoh? Well, I hate it. Plain and simple, this is the worst primary Sentai Robot toy ever made. It's exceedingly ugly, the parts don't fit too well (helmet), it's very clunky and the motorized gimmick is beyond lame. By far...this is the worst. Welcome to my review of the Dino Commander from Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger! The Dino Commander is the Henshin Brace of Abareblack. It is similar in theme to the Dino Brace (ダイノブレス) used by the primary three Abaranger as well as the Dino Minder (ダイノマインダー) used by Abare Killler. Instead of pressing a button, however, the Dino Commander is activated using a key which, when folded, doubles as a Harmonica called the Dino Harp (ダイノハープ). The toy of the Dino Commander is everything you'd expect from Bandai Japan. It's an accurate representation of the Dino Commander from the show, right down to the swapable Dino Plates. It should be noted that the Dino Harp not only has a whistle, but that the key is made of Die Cast Metal! What it should really remind people of is the Accelchanger (アクセルチェンジャー) from Gekisou Sentai Carranger (激走戦隊カーレンジャー). It should be noted that different sounds can be utilized with different Dino Plates. As an example in the video, I used the Dino Plate from Pakikero Knuckles. Also, I included pictures from both sides of the toy catalog. Enjoy the Kamen Rider Faiz toy pictures. In Power Rangers Dino Thunder, Tommy Oliver returned to play the Black Dino Ranger. His character used the Brachio Morpher which, ofcourse, had a toy version made by Bandai America. By the time Gekiranger aired, there really hadn't been true animal Mecha in quite some time. Granted, the early part of the 2000s was saturated with animal/beast based mecha between Gaoranger and Abaranger...it was great to have Gekiranger get back into the animal based mecha party. Here we have the minimalist's dream: a three piece mecha! Gekitouja is the resulting combination of the primary three Gekibeast (ゲキビースト)... 1. Gekitiger 2. Gekicheetah 3. Gekijaguar 1. ゲキタイガー2. ゲキチーター3. ゲキジャガーThe only accessories that Gekitouja comes with are the three tails that belong to each Gekibeast. The resulting combination of the tails forms the Gekisetsukon (ゲキセツコン). Gekitiger also houses electronics which can be controlled by two different buttons. Pressing the button on the back allows for the legs to spin, while the lower button spins the torso. There are also lights in both fists/paws. I kinda like this mecha. It is lightyears better than Daibouken (ダイボウケン) but i'd say that Engineoh (エンジンオー) has the advantage. Aside from the seemingly weak design, my major beef involves the lack of a sword. In the nearly 30 years since Battle Fever Robo came out (as of 2007) there has never been a primary Sentai Mecha toy without a sword. Several series early in the 2000s came very close to breaking the <b>...</b> |
