Or an expired period of gas tax for a month. *A controversy on the gasoline tax has been a big issue between Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the largest opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ). The temporary higher gasoline tax rate has expired at the end of March and lead a 25 yen per liter decline on gas.
